The application of connective tissue grafts (CTG) in conjunction with dental implants has been extensively investigated as a strategy to enhance the quality and volume of soft tissues, promoting implant stability and patient satisfaction. The objective of this study was to conduct a review on the use of CTG associated with implants in the aesthetic zone. A search was conducted in the BVS and PubMed databases. Seventeen studies met the inclusion criteria. The evidence indicates that subepithelial CTG constitutes the predominant and most efficient method, demonstrating significant improvements in soft tissue thickness and quality, along with superior aesthetic outcomes. Surgical procedures such as tunneling and the envelope technique proved effective, offering specific benefits regarding tissue preservation and stability. It is concluded that the use of CTG with implants in the aesthetic region represents an effective tactic for optimizing aesthetic and functional outcomes. However, additional long-term studies with greater methodological rigor are essential to define standardized clinical protocols. Future research should focus on refining new techniques and biomaterials that minimize morbidity and enhance patient comfort.
